Doctorate School of Humanities |
The Ph.D in Humanities at Bergamo is an innovative interdisciplinary program in literature and culture combining the Doctorates in Euro-American Literature (Dpt. of Foreign Languages and Literatures and Communication) and Theory and Textual Analysis (Dpt. of General Arts and Philosophy). Assuming a foundation in the study of literary and visual artifacts from a transnational and intercultural perspective, it is designed for intellectually creative students who desire to extend their reach of enquiry into fields such as art, philosophy and anthropology. As a site for joint reasearch and inquiry, the School's program develops across theme-oriented modules, seminars, guest lectures and colloquia, bringing together a number of disciplines – Critical Theory, Angloamerican and Anglophone Studies, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, Classics (Latin, Medieval Literature and Philology), Film and Media Studies, Art History – plus a collaborating faculty drawn from other areas.
