Class: DS/1 - Defence and Security Studies

Course reserved for students of the Academy of the Guardia di Finanza

Objectives
The objective of the undergraduate degree course in the Science of Economic and Financial Security is to give an holistic introduction and adequate theoretical and practical training to enable the students undertake positions of leadership, management and co-ordination in the sectors which have been taught, concerning the economic interests of the Italian State and the European Union.
The course is attended for two years by officer cadets and for one year by those ranking second-lieutenants. At the end of the three year period the second-lieutenants are admitted to the practical course and are allowed to attend the graduate degree course in the Science of Economic and Financial Security.

Entry test
The criteria for admission and the entrance exam are laid out each year according to specific notice of competitive examination and regard:

• Personal requirements: applicants should be over 17 and under 22 years old
• Moral requirements: the same as those needed for entrance to the judiciary
• Requirements concerning future military status: the candidates should not have done any public service as conscientious objectors
• Education requirements: high school diploma.
