Goals


The Research Centre operates at University of Bergamo, in the Department of Engineering. It conducts surveys, studies and research analyses with focus on Logistics Design, Operations Management and After-Sales Service management.

The main goals of the Centre are:


  • to ENHANCE research and education activities on topics related to Logistics and After-Sales Service management

  • to PROMOTE collaboration and technological transfer with industrial and service companies, in particular with SMEs

  • to CONTRIBUTE to the regional development through the establishment of local and national permanent observatories on topics related to supply and service chain management.

  • Publication of research reports and technical white-papers

  • Promotion of scientific, technical and cultural exchange with both national and international research centres and associations.



Themes
Supply Chain Management strategies, with special focus on the planning and design of integrated and coordinated supply chains and on the evaluation of decision-making scenarios through the use of simulation techniques
Business Process Modelling and supply chain performance measurement systems, through the adoption of reference models and the development of logistics performance measurement tools
Role of technologies and ICT systems as decision support tools for supply and service chain management
Strategic management of After-Sales service activities, such as design, offering, supply and use of services related to durable consumer goods, of individual, industrial and professional nature
Supply chain risk management, with regard to the identification, evaluation and mitigation of the operational risk embedded in manufacturing and logistics activities, on a local, national and worldwide scale


Research Projects
ASAP Service Management Forum - A forum finalised to the promotion of cultural and scientific activities in the After-Sales area. In particular, the Centre has developed specific know-how within the automotive industry
BENCH-LOG - Benchmarking projects on companies logistics performance, through the use of process mapping models and performance measurement systems applied to supply and service chains. The Research Group is an active member of the Supply Chain Council, an international organization made by research institutes and industrial companies for the development and diffusion of SCOR, CCOR and DCOR reference models
RISK-CENTRAL - Information portal to collect, promote and release news, resources and activities related to the supply chain risk management
TEX-LOG LABORATORY - Reference point for the innovation and promotion of logistics activities in the textile industry
