CERLIS (Research Centre on Languages for Specific Purposes) was founded in 1999 to promote research in the area of languages for specific purposes both on a synchronic and a diachronic level. The Centre aims:
CERLIS members are involved in national and international research projects on the following topics: academic discourse, scientific discourse, legal discourse, political discourse, economic discourse, the language of tourism. CERLIS has organized Conferences on "Modality in Specialized Texts" (2000); "Conflict and Negotiation in Specialized Texts" (2001); "New Trends in Specialized Discourse" (2005); "Trading Identities" (2008). |
