The Centre was founded in 1999 within the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Communication Studies of the University of Bergamo.
It hosts cultural development, theoretical and applied research, training and consultancy in the areas of tourism, heritage and cultural activities.
The Centre has always operated in an international context, paying constant attention to European Union situations, problems and perspectives, in line with the know-how, resources and cultural horizons of the Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Communication Studies. Activities:
- To support theoretical and methodological studies and research
- To create data banks and disseminate their contents
- To undertake research and consultancy work on behalf of public and private organisations
- To promote cultural initiatives, symposiums and conferences
- To network with Italian and foreign scholars
- To organise training initiatives.
Within its research and consultancy activities, the Centre collaborates with the Region of Lombardy, Bergamo council and other regional institutions.
