The University of Bergamo will be hosting the Fifth International Conference on Late Modern English from Wed. 28 to Fri. 30 August 2013. This follows on from four very successful conferences on Late Modern English (Edinburgh, 2001; Vigo, 2004; Leiden, 2007; and Sheffield, 2010). The theme of the 2013 conference will be 'Transatlantic Perspectives on Late Modern English'. We are therefore particularly interested in papers which take an innovative approach to studies of LModE in and beyond Europe, varieties of LModE outside Britain, etc. Proposals for round tables, workshops and/or software demonstrations are welcome; an e-poster session will also be possible.
