Emanuela Casti
Full Professor of Geography. In the field of complex communicative systems, she has formalised a semiotic cartographic theory which unravels the relationship between geography and cartography. Beyond titles of sheer theoretical approach, many of her published works concern the processes of territorialisation in both African and Italian setting. She is member of several national associations such as the Italian Geographic Society (SGI), the Association of Italian Geographers (AGeI), the Italian Association of Cartography (AIC), as well as international ones, namely the International Geographic Union (UGI) and the Intenational Cartographic Association (ICA).

Federica Burini
Researcher of Geography, teacher of Geography of Development. Her studies concern environmental conservation and cartographic representations in Africa.

Alessandra Ghisalberti
Professor of Regional Geography A and Territorial Processes in Asian Lands. She has been researching on the territorial dynamics produced by migration processes both in national and international areas, particularly concerning Third World countries.
