Every year the University of Bergamo offers courses of Italian language and culture to Erasmus and Exchange students in each semester. The courses will be held on the premises of the University of Bergamo, in the ancient Upper Town of Bergamo (Cittą alta), in the following periods:
An intensive Italian language course, specifically designed for beginners, is offered before the start of each semester. Upon request and depending on the number of participants, the following courses will also be running in both semesters:
All students are obliged to take a placement test at the start of the course (usually on the first day) in order to determine their proficiency. Classes will then be formed according to level (beginners, elementary, preintermediate, post-intermediate, advanced). At the end of each course students will each receive a certificate of attendance. Upon request, they may sit a final exam and obtain a mark on their certificate. Those attending at least two-thirds of the classes and taking the final exam will be assigned 5 ects credits per semester for the language course. Students may enroll in one language course per semester + the Business Language Course or the Writing Skills Course, free of charge, in addition to the Intensive Language Course.
