Prof. Alfredo De Massis

Alfredo De Massis è Professore Aggregato presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Università degli Studi di Bergamo, co-fondatore e Direttore Vicario del Center for Young & Family Enterprise (CYFE) presso il medesimo ateneo. È Presidente dello STEP European Leadership Council e membro del Global Board del Progetto di Ricerca Globale STEP sull'Imprenditorialità Familiare fondato dal Babson College (U.S.A.). È inoltre Research Fellow presso lo Witten Institute for Family Business (WIFU) della Witten/Herdecke University (Germania), membro dell'Advisory Committee della Family Enterprise Research Conference (FERC), Program Chair-Elect dello "Special Interest Group on Family Business Research" della European Academy of Management (EURAM), membro dell'Editorial Board dell'International Journal of Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation e del Comitato Scientifico della rivista di management e innovazione Sistemi & Impresa. È stato manager per la Società di Consulenza Direzionale SCS Consulting, Senior Consultant nella Serviceline Strategy della multinazionale della consulenza Accenture e Analista Finanziario presso Borsa Italiana. Svolge attività di ricerca, formazione e consulenza nel campo dell'imprenditorialità e del family business con particolare attenzione alla gestione dell'innovazione e dei processi di successione.
Membro di numerose associazioni internazionali, tra cui International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA) e Family Firm Institute (FFI), è autore di 6 libri e più di 120 pubblicazioni su riviste scientifiche e atti di convegni internazionali e nazionali. La sua ricerca è stata pubblicata, tra gli altri, su Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Small Business Management, Family Business Review, Journal of Technology Transfer, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research, International Journal of Technology Management, Journal of Entrepreneurship, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Journal of International Entrepreneurship, European Journal of Innovation Management, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, International Journal of Business and Society, International Journal of Innovation and Learning, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship. Il suo ultimo libro (co-autorato con Pramodita Sharma, Jess H. Chua and James J. Chrisman) è intitolato Family Business Studies: An Annotated Bibliography, Edward Elgar, 2012.

Alfredo De Massis is Assistant Professor of Family Business & Entrepreneurship at University of Bergamo, co-founder and Deputy Director of the research Center for Young & Family Enterprise (CYFE) of the same University. He is Chair of the STEP European Leadership Council and member of the Global Board of the Global STEP Project for Family Enterprising founded by Babson College (USA), Research Fellow at the Witten Institute for Family Business (WIFU) of Witten/Herdecke University (Germany), Member of the Advisory Committee of the Family Enterprise Research Conference (FERC), Program Chair-Elect for the "Special Interest Group on Family Business Research" at the European Academy of Management (EURAM), Lecturer of Family Business in the Ph.D. Program on Economics and Technology Management of the University of Bergamo, and member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has been TOFT Visiting Professor at Jonkoping International Business School (Sweden) and a visiting scholar at the Haskayne School of Business (Canada). He has also been Manager in SCS Consulting, senior consultant in the Strategy service line of Accenture and financial analyst at the Italian Stock Exchange. He is member of several academic and professional associations on family business, e.g. International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA), Italian Family Enterprise Research Academy (ITFERA), Family Firm Institute (FFI), and is also ad-hoc reviewer for journals including Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Small Business Management, Family Business Review, International Journal of Management Reviews, Journal of Family Business Strategy.

His research and teaching is focused on innovation and technology management in family firms, family business goals, intra-family succession, conceptual and empirical indeterminacies in family business research, transgenerational entrepreneurship and behavioural issues in enterprising families.

Publications: He has authored 6 books and more than 120 papers published on international and national journals and conference proceedings. His research has appeared, among others, in Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of Small Business Management, Family Business Review, Journal of Technology Transfer, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research, International Journal of Technology Management, Journal of Entrepreneurship, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Journal of International Entrepreneurship, European Journal of Innovation Management, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, International Journal of Business and Society, International Journal of Innovation and Learning, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship.
