Mathematical Analysis I. Probability and Statistics. Mathematical Analysis II (although not essential, it is helpful to take the course).
Knowledge of mathematical tools at the basis of decision support systems for medical decision making.
Use and development of such tools, and integration within the machines.
At the end of the course the student will be able to analyze a problem and provide a solution in terms of a mathematical tool.
Decision support systems based on mathematical models for medical decision making. General theory and examples (e.g., hemodialysis, cardiovascular system, bioimaging, artificial pancreas).
Collection of scientific papers and chapters provided during the course.
Lectures and computer lab.
Written exam followed by an oral exam. Project conducted in a group of three students.
