The student must possess the basic knowledge of human modeling techniques.
The main objective of the course is to train the student to work in team to address an assigned project. The practical activities of the laboratory are aimed at improving technical and communication skills.
The lab will concern the direct experimentation of the following technologies:
1 - Motion capture (MOCAP) systems with particular attention to optical marker-less solution (e.g., Microsoft Kinect, GoPro Active Cameras) and their application for chronical diseases and gait analysis.
2 – Software solutions for skeleton and motion reconstruction.
3 – Use of 3D scanning systems (e.g., Microsoft Kinect and Structure Sensor) to acquire shape of anatomical district body, their 3D shape reconstruction and fusion with MOCAP data.
4 – Elaboration of acquired data for medical assessment.
Students will work in team to develop a project related to medical technology/management and to obtain attended results. Meetings with the teacher will address project aims, theoretical background and specific knowledge related to the project activities. Project tutoring will be provided continuously during the entire duration of the project.
Evaluation of the project results, knowledge acquired and skills will be evaluated at the end of each project on the basis of a public presentation by each project team.
