Bachelor's degree in Slavic (Russian) Studies.
Students will acknowledge the tools (dictionaries, media etc.) and the basic translating methods. They will also develop skill in the application of them in the translation from Russian into Italian of some literary texts or cultural articles. At the end of the course, students will be able to identify and put into practice the translation strategies most appropriate to the communicative functions of the texts to be translated.
During the course, will be translated literary and cultural texts and consolidated the morphologic and syntactic structures acquired in the bachelor’s degree. It will be analyzed word order in literary texts and articles on Russian culture. It will be given adequate room to the etymological analysis of the words in order to acquire a greater ability to recognize without the help of the dictionary apparently unknown terms. It will be identified, in case of need, the possible translation strategies of linguistic and cultural incompatible codes.
Lectures in Russian language on theoretical rudiments of the literary translation; workshops in Russian/Italian languages in order to compare the solutions of translation identified collectively in class or individually at home.
The attendance, which is not compulsory, is however STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
Partial tests at the end of the module A are not allowed.
