Russia between wars and revolutions (1917-1946 from Grossman to Platonov)
The course is designed to provide students with a general framework of reference
for the principal categories of modern Russian identities, with
particular emphasis on the notions of empire and nationhood in their historical development. The
course considers a vast spectrum of phenomena and literary texts that are drawn from, but not limited to, “high culture”
Lectures with active participation of students alternating with literary translation workshops.
Oral exam consisting in the reading, translation, commentary of literary passages in the original language.
